IntroductionThe Hamilton lab conducts research into the fundamentals of social cognition. We are interested in the cognitive and neural systems which allow people to understand other people's actions, goals, intentions and mental states. This research aims to test current theories of social interaction, and to develop a new understanding of non-verbal social information processing. We carry out neuroimaging studies at the SPMMRC and behavioural studies of both children and adults. We also invite individuals with autism to participate in some studies, because we are interested in the variety of different ways of processing social information used by different people.
